Last week, the Norwegian Geophysical Society organised its first General Assembly in Bergen. The meeting was a huge success with 134 registered participants, 35 posters, 64 oral talks, and 7 union lectures. We would like to thank all participants for joining this exciting meeting with great networking opportunities. Special thanks also to the Scientific Organisation Committee for putting together this interesting program.

At the annual meeting on Friday, a new organisational plan was approved, with ambitions to offer a national network to early career scientists, including the offer of courses as well as an annual summer school. In addition, the annual meeting approved a network for science teachers at videregående skole within NGF. This network is envisioned to facilitate teachers to stay in touch with the scientific community as well as a potential for future student recruitment. In addition, three new board members were elected, expanding the board to a total of seven members, including re-election of the leader (Thomas Spengler), vice-leader (Igor Esau), and board member for finances (Britta Schäfer). We are very much looking forward to keep shaping NGF for the coming years and hope for a continued engagement from all members.
